    241 Prince Street is a large brick, Richardsonian Romanesque style home. It is located in what was a fashionable building area of Charlottetown in the late 19th Century in 1887. It was designed by Charlottetown architect Charles B. Chappell for James Paton, a prominent businessman with extensive in New England. The heavy brick and stone construction and unique design, a dominant springing stone arch over an off-center entrance and porch and recessed windows. The house has intricately patterned brick work, and its imposing chimney has highly articulated features in the Renaissance Revival style.
